This page has been left in place as a memorial to our friend Patty Rambert. Her death on Memorial Day 2006 was a shock to us all. Heather Rambert wrote on OutdoorsClub.Org: Patty Rambert died Wednesday while climbing Mt. Mendel in the Sierra with a friend. Her friend reports that Patty was standing on a snow slope while her friend went ahead to explore a possible route. Her friend heard Patty yell and turned to see her falling. Apparently, Patty was unable to self-arrest. Both were using ice axes and crampons and snow conditions were good. More details are in an Orange County Register newspaper article.
